Stillhaven or Livid?

The short version

If you work alone, have a large library, and want the most storage for the lowest price, use Livid. Two terabytes for $10 a month on an annual plan is more room than we offer anywhere near that price.

If more than one person manages the videos, or the people watching are clients and students who need to review, sign off or sign in, that is us.

Where Stillhaven is the better choice

More than one person runs the library

Creator includes 3 manager seats and 25 viewer seats. Livid Pro is one seat, and five seats come with Livid Premium at $40 a month month to month or $24 on an annual plan. Viewers who only watch are a separate pool here, so an audience does not use up the seats your team needs.

Your client has to approve the cut

Client review lets a reviewer leave timestamped notes on a share page without an account. You reply or resolve, and they sign off when the cut is right. Notes arrive in a daily digest. On every paid plan.

You record as well as upload

Record your screen, your camera, or both from the console. Paid plans have no time limit and can blur the background behind you. The share link works before processing finishes.

You send video to people, not only publish it

Create a link that stops working after six hours to thirty days, or send a video to up to ten people by email with a note. On every paid plan.

You teach, or you run a private audience

Public channels are on Creator. From Studio, private channels put viewers behind their own sign-in and show each viewer's progress lesson by lesson. Livid's Showcases share a collection under a single link.

You want embed control that reports back

Allowed domains, on every paid plan: list the domains where a video may be embedded, per video or as a default for the whole library. When a site you did not allow tries anyway, your analytics name it. Livid restricts embeds by domain too, with wildcard subdomains, and can turn off a video's watch page.

You want to script it

A documented API with scoped keys and a Claude connector, on every paid plan.

Where Livid is the better choice

You want the most room for the money

Livid Pro is $16 a month month to month or $10 on an annual plan, and includes 2 TB of storage and 3 TB of monthly bandwidth. Creator is $27 month to month or $22 annually, with 250 GB and 1 TB. On storage and bandwidth per dollar, Livid wins and it is not close.

You are leaving Vimeo with a big library

Livid's free exporter copies a Vimeo library across with folders and metadata intact. We have no direct Vimeo importer. Ours is for Wistia. From Vimeo you download your files and drag the folder in.

You expect to go over on bandwidth

Livid bills extra bandwidth at $0.06 per GB. Ours is $0.15 per GB on Creator, $0.12 on Studio and $0.10 on Broadcast.

You want a free plan that can take traffic

Livid Free includes 1 GB of storage and 3 TB of monthly bandwidth. Ours includes 10 GB and 50 GB. If the library is small and the audience is large, theirs holds up longer.

Overage is worth calling out, because we make a point of it against Vimeo and it is not a difference here: both of us publish a per-gigabyte rate and keep your videos playing. Theirs is the lower rate.
