Frequently asked

What is Stillhaven?
Private, ad-free video hosting built around three things — host your footage, hand over a clean embed, and share it. You upload, we process and store it, and you get a fast, brandable player you can drop anywhere or share as a link. No ads, no recommendations, no competitor logos pulling viewers away.
How is it different from YouTube or Vimeo?
Your video stays yours. There are no ads on it, no “up next” siphoning your audience, and no platform storefront wrapped around it. Your branding goes on the player, embeds stay private to your site, and you’re billed on plain storage and bandwidth — not ad economics.
What can I upload, and what quality does it stream at?
Upload up to 100 GB per file, portrait or landscape, in the common video formats. Every upload is transcoded into an adaptive stream, so viewers automatically get the best quality their connection allows — up to 1080p on Free and Creator, and up to 4K on Studio and Broadcast.
How does pricing work?
Two meters you already understand: storage (the size of your library) and bandwidth (how much your audience watches each month). Plans run Free → Creator → Studio → Broadcast, and paying annually saves about 20%. The essentials — auto-captions, the branded player, analytics, and embeds — are included on every plan.
What happens if I go over my storage or bandwidth?
On Free, playback pauses once you hit the monthly bandwidth cap and resets at the start of the next cycle — your videos are never deleted. On paid plans, you can let overage bill at a low per-GB rate, or prepay a storage or bandwidth block to lock an even lower one. Either way, nothing gets taken down.
How private and secure are my videos?
Media is delivered over a global CDN with short-lived signed links, so URLs can’t simply be copied and hotlinked. You decide whether a video is downloadable. Channels can be public, or private with password and magic-link sign-in — and you control exactly who’s invited.
Can I put my own branding on the player?
Yes. Every plan gets a clean, private player. From Creator up you also get the full set — your logo on share pages, your theme colors, and no Stillhaven badge. It's included, not an add-on.
What are Channels?
A channel is a branded, playlist-style page at your own URL that groups a set of videos — a series, an event, a course. Keep it public, or make it private with per-viewer sign-in and watch tracking, and sync access straight from your CRM (HubSpot, Zapier, Ontraport, or the REST API). Channels are available from Creator up.
Can I control where my videos are embedded?
Yes, using Allowed domains. On every paid plan you can list the domains where a video may be embedded, and copied embed code won't play anywhere else. Set it per video, or set a default for your whole library. You can also turn off a video's public share page on any plan, including Free, so the video plays only in your embeds and channels. Your analytics show where each video loads, plays, and gets blocked, by site name.
One of my own pages shows the blocked screen. What now?
Open that video and look at its Sources panel, under Sharing beside Allowed domains. A blocked entry that looks like your own site is flagged there, with a one-click fix. The usual cause is the www difference: example.com on the list matches only example.com, so add *.example.com to cover www and every other subdomain. The editor suggests this for you when it applies.
What does the Sources panel record?
Site names only. For each video it counts where the video loaded, where it was played, and where it was refused, grouped by day and kept for 90 days. No IP addresses, no browser details, nothing about an individual viewer. Turning a share page off is instant and reversible, but links you already shared will stop working, so flip it before you share rather than after.
How do I embed or share a video?
Every video comes with a one-line embed code you can drop on any site, and a dedicated, brandable share page with its own link. You can add a description and downloadable attachments to the share page, and grab a poster image with a play-button overlay for use elsewhere.
Can I change plans or cancel anytime?
Yes — it’s all self-serve. Upgrade or switch tiers whenever you like and you’ll see the exact prorated amount before you confirm. To leave, you can downgrade to Free (you keep your account and everything that fits) or cancel fully, with a 30-day window to restore your library if you change your mind.
