Loom alternative: Stillhaven or Loom?

If you record now and then, and the same videos also need to be embedded on your site, sent to a client for sign-off, or kept in a library with the rest of your video, that is us.

Where Stillhaven is the better choice

You are one person

Solo is $9 a month. Loom Business is $18 per user a month, billed monthly. Solo records up to 30 minutes at a time and takes 4 hours of new video a month. Loom Business limits neither.

The recording is also the hosted video

A recording lands in the same library as your uploads. Embed it on your site and lock the embed to your domains, on every plan. Put it in a channel from Creator. Upload finished files of up to 100 GB beside it.

Your client has to approve the cut

Client review lets a reviewer leave timestamped notes on a share page without an account. You reply or resolve, and they sign off when the cut is right. On every plan.

You send video with an end date

Create a link that stops working after six hours to thirty days, or send a video to up to ten people by email with a note. Put a password on the share page if you want one. On every plan. Loom lists link expiry on its Enterprise plan.

You would rather not install anything

The recorder runs in the browser, from the console. Parts save as you go, so a closed tab loses seconds. Captions are on by default, and the share link works before processing finishes.

You want a free plan

Loom Starter is free: 25 recordings per person, of up to five minutes each. We have no free plan. Every plan billed monthly starts with 14 days free, card on file.

You record from the desktop

Loom has a desktop app and a Chrome extension. Ours records from a browser tab in the console and nowhere else.

You want no ceiling on recording

Loom Business lists unlimited videos and unlimited recording time. Solo records up to 30 minutes at a time, and each plan takes a set number of hours of new video a month: 4 on Solo, 10 on Creator, 20 on Studio, 40 on Broadcast.

You want to edit what you recorded

Loom Business trims a recording and stitches videos together. Business + AI edits by text and removes silences and filler words. Ours trims the start and end and adds fades, on Studio and up.

You want AI to write it up

Loom Business + AI adds summaries, chapters, meeting notes, and turning a video into an issue or a doc. We generate captions with a transcript you can edit, and stop there.

You record meetings

Loom records live video meetings automatically, starting on its free plan. We do not record meetings.

You need enterprise sign-on

Loom Enterprise includes SSO and SCIM. We offer Google sign-in and authenticator-app sign-in. We have no SSO or SCIM.
