STILLHAVEN INTIMATE-IMAGE REMOVAL POLICY
Last updated: July 15, 2026 · Version: 4.0
1. What this is
If an intimate image or video of you has been shared on Stillhaven without your consent, you can ask us to remove it — and we will act quickly. This policy explains what's covered, how to make a request, and what happens next. It is part of our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy, which prohibit this content on Stillhaven.
We handle these requests seriously and with care. You do not need a lawyer to make a request.
2. What this covers
This policy covers non-consensual intimate imagery ("NCII") — an intimate visual depiction of an identifiable person shared without that person's consent. It includes:
-
authentic intimate images or videos shared without consent; and
-
digital forgeries ("deepfakes") — intimate images or videos that were created or altered by software or artificial intelligence to depict an identifiable person, shared without their consent.
3. Who can make a request
You can make a request if you are:
-
the identifiable person depicted; or
-
someone authorized to act on that person's behalf (for example, a parent or guardian, or a legal representative).
4. How to make a removal request
Submit your request using the removal form or by email to abuse-report@stillhaven.io. To be valid, a request must be in writing and include all of the following:
-
Your signature — a physical or electronic signature of the person depicted (or the person authorized to act for them).
-
What and where — enough information to identify the intimate image or video and to let us find it on Stillhaven (for example, the video link, embed location, or a description that locates it).
-
A statement of non-consent — a brief statement that you have a good-faith belief the image or video is not consensual, along with any information that helps us confirm it was shared without consent.
-
How to reach you — contact information so we can follow up.
A template you can adapt is in Appendix B. (For requests involving a person who is or was under 18, see Section 8 — some of the above may not be required, and additional protections apply.)
5. What happens after you submit
5.1 We confirm receipt and give you a reference number so you can track your request.
5.2 We review the request. If it is valid, we will remove the reported image or video as soon as possible, and no later than 48 hours after we receive your request, and we will make reasonable efforts to find and remove known identical copies on Stillhaven within that time. You do not need to separately report duplicates.
5.3 We tell you the outcome — whether we removed the content, and if we did not, why (for example, if we need more information to locate it).
5.4 If we need clarification to act, we will contact you using the information you provided.
6. Preventing re-uploads
To help stop removed content from reappearing, we may create a digital "fingerprint" (hash) of the removed image or video and use it to block re-uploads. Where appropriate, we may share hashes with trusted programs so the same content can be blocked here and on other platforms — for example, StopNCII.org (for people 18 and older) and NCMEC's Take It Down service (for people who were under 18).
7. Good-faith removals; no retaliation
7.1 We may remove content we reasonably believe is non-consensual intimate imagery, and we act in good faith to protect people. We will not penalize you for making a good-faith request.
7.2 Submitting a knowingly false request — for example, to remove content that is lawful and consensual — may violate our Terms and applicable law.
8. If the person depicted is a minor
If the person depicted in an intimate image is, or was at the time, under 18, that content is treated as child sexual abuse material (CSAM) under our zero-tolerance child-safety rules. In addition to removing it, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement, as described in our Terms of Use. For these reports, we may not require the same contact information, and additional legal protections apply to the person reporting. If you are a minor reporting an image of yourself, you can still use this process, and you will not be penalized for doing so.
9. Other kinds of reports
-
Copyright / intellectual property: see our Copyright/DMCA Policy (dmca@stillhaven.io).
-
Other prohibited content or conduct: see our Acceptable Use Policy (abuse-report@stillhaven.io).
10. Getting more help
Being targeted this way can be distressing, and you don't have to handle it alone. In addition to requesting removal here, you may wish to contact StopNCII.org; and, for minors, NCMEC's Take It Down service. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
11. Changes and contact
11.1 We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be handled as described in the Terms.
11.2 Questions about this policy: legal@stillhaven.io] To make a removal request, use Section 4.
🔵 Why this one is time-sensitive
FTC enforcement of the Take It Down Act's platform requirements began May 19, 2026, with civil penalties up to ~$53,088 per violation. A covered platform that accepts user uploads (Stillhaven does) is expected to have a working notice-and-removal process. This is a launch-blocking item, not a fast-follow.
